Funeral Service Held Tuesday

A heart ailment, from which she had been ill for the past year and a half, resulted in the death of Mrs. Zoe Allen, 85. She died early Friday morning at her home in Florence township.

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Church of the Nazarene, with Rev. David Belzer officiating. Interment was made in the G.A.R. Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were Merle Moncur, William Schwartz, Leslie Croll, Robert Harris, David Ames and Glen Renner. Honorary pallbearers were Ralph Gamble, E.V. Story, J.R. Moncur, George Steptoe, George Ellsworth, Gilbert Matson, John Bertsch and John Mullaney.

Elizabeth Holzworth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Holzworth, was born November 21, 1885 at Freeman, S.D., one of a family of six children. Her early years were spent in Freeman, Sheridan, Ore., & Gregory, S.D., and she came to Hand County in 1908, making this her home continuously until her death. On September 14, 1916, she was married to Zoe Allen, and they established their home in Florence township. She was a member of the Greenleaf Methodist Church.

Surviving her death are her husband, two sons, Herbert, Des Plaines, Ill., and Russell, Miller, and one daughter, Mrs. Neva R. Frederickson, Long Beach, Calif. There are eight grandchildren, and one brother. Her parents, three brothers, and a sister preceded her in death.
