He was a retired superintendent of maintenance for Steelton-Highspire School District, an Army veteran of World War II, a former member of the 104th Armored Cavalry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard, and was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Camp Hill, its Bible study group, VFW Post 710, Steelton, the American Association of Retired Persons, and the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirees Association.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mildred Kenney Fortenbaugh.
