Wilma Bluitt was the  eighth child of Horace Bluitt and Amy Perry. She was born October 1889, in Limestone County.  She was affectionately known as "Daught." Her early education was completed in the county.  Wilma moved to Corsicana with her daughter Alberta and became employed by a prominent family.

While living in Corsicana, Wilma met and married Ostell S. Sallard on October 12, 1912. Her daughter was adopted by Ostell. Like most of the her family members, Wilma maintained her Methodist faith. She joined Bethel A.M.E Church when she moved to Corsicana. Wilma was active in the church. She served as chaplain of the Missionary Society for years until her health failed. Wilma was also a member of the Court of Calanthe.

Wilma and Ostell were married for 63 years. They  celebrated their 50th anniversary with family and friends in 1962. Wilma enjoyed a long and blessed life. She died at the age of 95 on Friday, March 3, 1989.
