Deceased Name: Albert Savage Bagg, Jr. of Forestport - Utica
Albert S. Bagg, Jr., 83, of Sunset Avenue, formerly of Forestport, husband of the late Euritha M. Bagg, passed away Sunday, December 10, 2006, at Masonic Care Community, Utica, where he had resided since March 2004. He was born December 15, 1922 in Utica, the eldest son of the late Albert S. and Elizabeth Lloyd Bagg. He attended Utica schools and graduated from Holland Patent Central School. Albert enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942 and fought as a tail gunner in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. He graduated from Colgate University in 1949, and was involved with the family business, Albert S. Bagg & Sons Real Estate & Insurance from 1949 to 1992. He then joined Paul K. Hatzinger Inc., retiring in 1997. On December 31, 1971, he was united in marriage with Euritha M. Ritter in Utica. For many years the couple lived on White Lake Road, Forestport. Mrs. Bagg died on November 19, 1997, and shortly thereafter Mr. Bagg moved to Sunset Avenue, Utica. Mr. Bagg was a member of St. Patrick's Church, Forestport, and various business organizations. He enjoyed hiking with the Tramp & Trail Club years ago, was a member of the Adirondack Mountain Club, and the Leon R. Roberts Post #161 American Legion, Holland Patent. Mr. Bagg is survived by a stepson, James Morey. Also surviving are nephews, Lloyd R. Bagg, Jr. and wife, Donna, John M. Bagg and wife, Judy, Joshua Bagg, and Merritt Scott Vaughan; nieces, Jenifer Eckels and husband, Kevin, and Mary Elizabeth Ward and husband, William; sisters-in-law, Marilyn Ritter, and Gail Scouten and husband, Peter; brothers-in-law, Lawrence Ritter and wife, Gerry, Basil Ritter, William Ritter and wife, Ann. He was predeceased by two brothers, John C. Bagg and Lloyd R. Bagg; and by a sister, Elizabeth Bagg Vaughan. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be celebrated at a later date at St. Patrick's Church, Forestport. Interment will be in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Forestport. There will be no calling hours. A Mass with the intention of Mr. Bagg will be at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, January 7, 2007, at St. Patrick's Church, Forestport. Arrangements are in the care of the Trainor Funeral Home, Inc., Boonville.
