Frances Nafziger, 96, of Bridgewater passed away on March 15, 2012 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls. Funeral services will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Monday, March 19, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church in Salem. Visitation will begin at 12 pm on Sunday with family present from 5-7 pm and a 7 pm prayer service all at Kinzley Funeral Home in Salem. Frances Gosmire was born on July 11, 1915 to Carl and Mary (Hyholt) Gosmire near Canova, SD. She grew up and received her education in Canova and graduated in 1934. On September 19th, 1936 she married Ross Bennett. They lived and farmed near Spencer, SD and then moved to town where they both worked for the post office. Frances worked there for 28 years. They raised four children together until Ross's passing in 1963. On May 23, 1971 Frances married William Nafziger. They lived in Spencer until the tornado in 1998 and then moved to Bridgewater. In April 2010 William passed away. She was preceded in death by one son-in-law, Don Bentein, one granddaughter, Laurie Bentein, four sisters, two brothers, four brothers-in-law, and a sister-in-law. Frances enjoyed being a great host, loved making blankets for all of her grandchildren, and enjoyed hunting and traveling. Most of all she loved her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
