Eva Landgrebe, 24, a former Atwood resident who was working in Rockford, was killed in an automobile [sic] accident in South Chicago yesterday morning according to word received here.

An employe of the Public Loan Corp. in Decatur for several years, she had recently been sent to Rockford by the company, where she was living at the time of her death. She was enroute to visit her father, William Landgrebe, Sr., in Wapakoneta, Ohio, when the accident occurred.

Born near Atwood, Oct. 29, 1916, she was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Landgrebe, Sr. Mrs. Landgrebe died several years ago.

Eva was a graduate of the Atwood township high school, with the class of 1935, and also a member of the Congregational Christian church here.

She leaves her father and a sister, Ruth Landgrebe, in Wapakoneta; and a brother, William Landgrebe, Jr., of Chesterton, Ind.

The brother will accompany the body to Atwood, where it will be removed to the Born funeral home. Burial will be in Mackville cemetery near Atwood, but other funeral arrangements are incomplete.
