MARY ELIZABETH OSBORNE, 82, Loretto, died at 6:55 p.m., Dec. 14, 1998, at Baptist Hospital East in Louisville. Born, Aug. 21, 1916, at Holy Cross, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Blandford Osborne, on May 7, 1995, a son, Thomas Marion Osborne, on Oct. 30, 1977; her father, Joseph Charles Hagan Sr. and her mother, the former Ellen Porter. Survivors include: five daughters, Mrs. Don (Mary Ellen) Brink of Burke, Va., Frances Warren of Louisville, Mrs. Jim (Pat) Burch of Prospect, Mrs. Amir (Christine) Rashid of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Randy (Rose Mary) Dixon of Holy Cross; two sons, Johnny and Edward Osborne of Loretto; 14 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was at 10 a.m. Dec. 17, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, with burial in St. Rose Cemetery, Springfield. James A. Covert was chief celebrant. Sister Mary Ellen Curl assisted. Pallbearers were Eddie and Matthew Osborne, Thomas and Brian Cambron, Barry Gordon and Robby Dykes. Prayers were at 7 p.m., Dec. 16, at Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, which was in charge of the arrangements.
