Of Cadillac passed away November 18, 2001 at Tendercare of Manistee. He was 77. He was born June 21, 1924 at Somerset, Pennsylvania to Charles and Josephine (Skaplauckas) Schwanik. He married Barbara Smith March 7, 1990 Mt. Clemens, Michigan. He was a Police Officer for Detroit, Police Dept. for 25 years. He was also a builder for 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He enjoyed hunting deer, pheasant and ducks. He is survived by his wife Barbara, and his children Mark Schwanik of Warren, Karl and Peggy Schwanik of Monroe, Kirk Schwanik of Redford, Paul Schwanik of Brighton, Mary and Brian Woods of Howell and two step-children James and Janet Mattison of Cadillac and Caren (Steven) Anderson of Cadillac. Sister Mary Tilton of Jenson Beach Florida and Helen Eash of Archbold, Ohio. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hitesman Funeral Home, Cadillac. Officiating will be Rev.
