The Anthon Herald, 24 November 1982: Otto W. Troll, 91, of Pierson died Wednesday, November 17, 1982, in a Sioux City hospital. Services were held 10:30 a.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church at Rock Branch, rural Correctionville, with Rev. Edward A. Schaller officiating. Burial was in Fairfield Cemetery at Rock Branch under direction of Walter Funeral Home in Anthon. Mr. Troll was born November 9, 1891, near Walnut, Iowa, to William and Amelia (Beefe) Troll. He farmed in the Walnut and Shelby communities. He married Pearl Bohle March 12, 1934, at Vermillion, SD. They farmed in the Pierson community, retiring in 1970. He entered the nursing home in Battle Creek in 1976. She died March 14, 1982. Mr. Troll was a fifty-year member of the Masonic Lodge Rutland 607 at Pierson. Survivors include three brothers, Louis and Herman both of Walnut, William of Minden and a sister, Mrs. Clara Anstine of Walnut. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, five brothers and one sister.
