ELWOOD BAKER
Of 215 Bedford St., Hollidaysburg, died at 3:15 a.m. today Oct. 19, 1971, in mercy Hospital, where he was admitted Friday, after an extended illness.
He was born Feb. 18, 1918, in Hollidaysburg, a son of Anthony and Lucinda (Miller) Baker, and on May 16, 1947, in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Cumberland, Md., married Mary C. Kehoe.
Surviving are his wife, two sons, Mark, at home, and Elwood of Bellwood; one grandchild and two sisters, Mrs. Edith McKee of Altoona and Mrs. Eleanor Delozier of Miami, Okla.
Mr. Baker, known as Buss, graduated from Hollidaysburg High School in 1938.
He was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, Knights of Columbus, Branch 4245; a lifelong member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Company and a member of the Hollidaysburg Civil Defense Auxiliary Police.
He was an Army Veteran of World War II and also served in the Korean Conflict.
He was a laborer for the Crane Co.
Friends will be received in the Haller Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. tomorrow and Thursday.
BAKER---The funeral of Elwood (Buss) Baker of 215 Bedford St., Hollidaysburg, will be held Friday at 10 a.m. with a requiem High Mass in St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg, by the Rev. Fabor Malloy.
Interment in the new St. Mary's Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
Friends will be received in the Haller Funeral Home, Hollidaysburg, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday.
