Lucille Thelma Asbury
Mrs. Lucille (Thelma) Asbury, age 79, of the Raven Nest Branch section of Cedar Bluff, VA passed away Friday January 7, 2005 at her home following a long illness. Born at Drill, VA she was the daughter of the late Joseph Lorenzo Dow Perkins & Mariah Honaker Perkins. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step-father James Goodwin; seven sisters Ida Grindstaff, Ethel Addington, Virgie Pruett, Myrtle Rasnake, Sarah Huffman, Elizabeth Perkins & Violet Perkins and two brothers Henry Perkins & Bernard Perkins. Mrs. Asbury was of the Holiness Faith. Mrs. Asbury is survived by her husband Thomas Eli Asbury Four daughters Nancy Whited of Raven Nest Branch, VA, Geneva Reynolds Allen of Mansfield, OH, Naoka Wilson & husband Harold of Raven Nest Branch, VA and Melissa Thomas & husband Danny of Raven Nest Branch, VA Two sons Junior Smith & wife Debbie of Cedar Bluff, VA and Ricky Asbury & wife Sherry of Bandy, VA One sister Kathleen Madril of Salem, OR Two brothers Frank Perkins & Whitt Perkins both of Raven Nest Branch, VA 14 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 1 Great Great Grandchild also survives. Funeral services for Mrs. Lucille (Thelma) Asbury will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Monday January 10, 2005 in the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Rev. Mike Altizer & Rev. Danny D. Short officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Timmy Smith, Joshua Asbury, Dustin Thomas, Eli Wilson, Michael Perkins, Jerry Perkins & Colby Payne.
