Albert E. Hartley, Grain Broker, Dies following illness.

After an illness of several months, following a nervous breakdown, death claimed Albert E. Hartley, grain broker, with offices in the Lafayette Loan and Trust building, Sunday night at the family residence, 2009 Thompson street. Born April 6, 1864 in Michigan, Mr. Hartley lived in that state until 19 years of age when he came to Indiana, where the rest of his life was spent in and around Lafayette. In 1889 he was united in marriage to Mary Francis Blackstone, who survives with a daughter, Mrs. Florence Carlisle and two sons, Charles and Warren Hartley, all of this city. He also leaves two brothers, John Hartley of Michigan and Harry Hartley of Talbot; a sister, Mrs. Saphronia Ogden of Michigan and 11 grandchildren. Mr. Hartley was a member of the Goodland Methodist church and the Knights of Pythias lodge. The body was removed to the Templeton funeral home and later was returned to the residence, 2009 Tompson street where friends may call. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday afternoon at 3 o'clock from the residence with the Rev. R. W. Knight of Congress Street M. E. church officiating. Interment in Springvale cemetery.
