Barbara Ann Abel, 88, formerly of the Harlan House, Easton, passed away Sunday, October 7, 2012 in Manor Care, Palmer Twp. Born: December 31, 1923 in Orlando, FL, she was a daughter of the late Carl B. and Margaret A. Hixson Dawson. Personal: Barbara was last employed by the former St. Michael's Catholic Church, Easton. Prior to that, she worked for the Children's Home of Easton. She was a 1943 graduate of Easton High School. Memberships: Barbara was a member of Faith Community Assembly of God. She was also a member of the LORA Club, Easton, and was active in the Democratic Party as a committeewoman in the 5th Ward. Survivors: A daughter, Barbara Bonnie Wasser of West Easton; two sons, William C. Roskilly of Liberty, NY, and Thomas G. Roskilly of Jackson, NJ; two adopted sons, Chris Dawson of Jim Thorpe, PA and Carl Dawson of Easton; a brother, Joseph Dawson of Easton; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter, Linda Diane Roskilly; and a brother, Carl Dawson. She was predeceased by three husbands, George Abel, Sr., Raymond Vosburgh, and George Roskilly. Services: Graveside services were held in Easton Cemetery, 401 North Seventh St., Easton. The Strunk Funeral Home, Inc., Wilson Borough was in charge of arrangements.
