Services for Sarah D Carter, 81, of 144 S Catalina Street, Ventura, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the Joseph P Reardon Funeral Chapel with the Order of the Eastern Star officiating. Entombment will be at Ivy Lawn Mausoleum.
Mrs. Carter died Thursday in her home after a long illness. She was born May 19, 1896, near Union Church Miss., and had been a resident of Ventura County for 23 years. She has been a restaurant owner for many years and a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No 79 of Ventura.
She is survived by daughters Maryola Ratliff of Camarillo and Martha A Byerrum of Ventura, son Archie J Estes of Austin Tex; sisters Miriam Lee Scott and Grace Ezelle, both of Vicksburg, Miss., and Artie Franks of New Orleans, LA., brother Mozelle Dungan of Baton Rouge, LA; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
