My great grandfather Jasper was a renter and owner of land. He married Jane Emma (Nesbitt) Brewton. They are the parents of my grandmother
Emma Stella (Brewton) Rice.
Children
Blanche, Mamie, Wilma, Palmer, Stella, Lois, Kenneth and Mattie.

Stella married Arthur David Rice (born in Union, Spartanburg) 12/20/1920 at Foster Chapel Baptist Church, Roebuck, SC.
7 children were born (3 born in Spartanburg, SC

Lucille, David Orlando, and Flora Lee (they were born in Spartanburg and Flora was my mother). Hazel, John, Lois and Mildred (born in Hackensack, NJ.
1930 Stella and Arthur Rice moved their family to Hackensack, NJ to continue the plans that God had for them. Here my grandparents became homeowners in the north with their 7 children. This part of the Brewton/ Rice family we are still residing in Hackensack, Nj and various communities in New Jersey.

Here I am!

Thanking God for the protective shield and guidance that He had with my ancestors. Their strong faith in God that had kept them strong and together.
When I look back to where we came from, the in humane treatments that we had to endur as people . Let my people go! We have over come. No longer looking back, but marching on with the plans that God has for us.

They knew that they had a friend in Jesus. They knew blessed assurance Jesus is mine. They knew when we all get to Heaven what a day of rejoicing it will be. When we All see Jesus we will sing and shout for VICTORY!

LIFT EVERY VOICE AND SING!
