MUNCIE--Norma J. (Jerri) Pearcy, 89, of Muncie, passed away Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
Jerri was born July 20, 1923 in Davidson, Tennessee, to the late John and Ethel Bowlin.
Jerri married Willie Pearcy on December 3, 1941 in Wartburg, TN, and moved to Muncie in 1952. Jerri was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening, cooking, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. She attended True Light Baptist Church for over 20 years.
Jerri is survived by five children, Janice Morris (husband-Jim) of Muncie, Faye Mace of Muncie, William Pearcy of Muncie, Patricia Summitt (husband-Russell) of Winchester, TN, and James Pearcy of Muncie; four siblings, Treva Long of Lansing, TN, Jolene Aytes of Frankfort, TN, Joyce Arms (husband-Allen) of Wartburg, TN, and Billie Osbourne of Wartburg, TN; 11 grandchildren, Shane Turner (Susan), Austin Summitt, Scotty Buck (Ashley), Travis Pearcy, Kenneth Workman, Dewayne Workman (Rhonda), Charles Workman (Anita), Troy Hargis (Trinity), Jill Ryans (Hank), Holly Baxter (David), and Brenda Harper; 18 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Jerri was preceded in death by her loving husband, Willie Pearcy in 2004; daughter, Anita Morris; infant twin sons, Billy and Bobby Pearcy; and two siblings, Aleda Potter and Gene Bowlin.
A funeral service to celebrate Jerri's life will be 1 p.m. Friday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Ave., Muncie. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather to share and remember from 5-7 p.m. Thursday and also one hour prior to services Friday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home.
