Dorothy M. Debele, 83, of Cloquet, died Tuesday March 3, 1998, in Community Memorial Hospital-Convalescent Care Section in Cloquet.
She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Britton, S.D. Her parents were Pete and Lillian (McNeal) LaMee. She graduated from Britton High School, attended the State Teachers College in Aberdeen, S.D., and later taught at several country schools. She married Irving Debele in Britton, in October 1936 and moved to the Esko area in June 1954. She went back to school at the University of Minnesota-Duluth and received a teaching degree in 1957. She taught fourth grade in Munger Elementary School from 1958 until retiring in 1980.
She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irving; a daughter-in-law, Donna Debele; and a grandson, Dean Debele.
She is survived by her sons, Arlin (Emily) of Cloquet, Larry (Delores) of Cromwell and Leroy (Lenita) of North Branch, Minn.; daughters Eloise (Jeff) Boily of Ponca City, Okla., and Elaine (Del) Baars of Strawberry Point Iowa; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation: 12:30 until the 1:30 p.m. service Sunday in Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cloquet. Interment service 10 a.m. Monday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Cloquet.
