John F. Zoubek, 79, of Faribault, died Tuesday, August 15, 2006.
John was born on September 22, 1926 in Montgomery, MN to John and Emma (Moudry) Zoubek. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1945. On May 4, 1948, he married Alvina Mahowald at St. Nicholas Church in New Market, MN. She died June 28, 1994.
John and Alvina farmed in Wells Township. John worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 26 years and retired in 1990. He retired from farming in 2004. On February 17, 2000 he married Gladys Tupy in Queen Creek, AZ.
John is survived by his wife, his children, John J. (Ruth) Zoubek, Medford, MN; Mary (Randy) Mell, Caledonia; Peg (John) Pavlik, Coon Rapids, MN; and Don (Jane) Zoubek, Andover, MN; his grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister Frances Edel, Champlin, MN; step-children, step-grandchildren, and step-great grandchildren.
Visitation was held at the Parker Kohl Funeral Home in Faribault in Thursday, August 17. Mass of Christian burial was held on Friday, August 18, at Divine Mercy Catholic Church in Faribault. Interment was at the Cavalry Cemetery in Faribault with military honors.
