James was born June 21, 1949 in Finley, TN to Earl Freeman and Dora Brock Freeman.
He was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Sr. and the "King" Richard Petty. James enjoyed Western movies, he loved kids and cooking and really enjoyed being the one to "put the last piece in a jig saw puzzle".
James served his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps and had been a boilermaker at the Charleston Shipyard.
He is survived by his wife of 12 years, "Billi" Freeman; his mother: Dora Freeman of Round O, SC; sister: Hazel Davis (Ruley) of Cottageville, SC; nephew Ron Sumner (Clara) of North Charleston, Helen & John Hayes of Summerville, SC and Rebecca Wall of Goose creek, SC; 4 great nephews and 2 great nieces, and step children: Ralph Davidson, Jason (Amanda) Davidson, Amber Durr (Jimmy) and 9 step grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his father, Earl Freeman.
The relatives and friends of Mr. James Freeman are invited to attend his funeral services, January 2, 2013, at one o'clock p.m. at Carolina Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with interment following at Carolina Memorial Park.
