Charlotte was a daughter of the Rev. George Thorp II and Sarah Aires Thorpe.
They arrived in the United States when she was about 6 years old.

Her brothers were: George III, John Henry, Charles Sanford, William E. and John F.
Her sisters were; Harriet, Elizabeth, Lucy Ann, Matilda, Louisa, Sarah and Mary Ellen.

Charlotte married Henry Capps August 24, 1845 in the Spring Creek Township, Adair County, Missouri.
The babies started coming in 1846 and continued for the next 20 years.

Henry passed away in 1901, and Charlotte followed in 1902. Death certificates were not issued until 1910.

Charlotte's sister Mary Ellen, is also buried in Megrew Cemetery (Mary Ellen Thorpe Braden).
