Annie Amelia Schulz Tynes (Granny),
100, of Waco, died Saturday, July 20, 2002 at a local nursing facility. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 23, 2002 at Wilkirson-Hatch-Bailey Funeral Home Chapel, 1124 Washington Ave., with Dr. Dan McGee and the Rev. Albert Schroeder officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 22, at the funeral home.
Mrs. Tynes was born in Weimar, Texas on Oct. 11, 1901. She attended school in Marlin and moved to Waco as a child. She married Alton Dee Tynes in 1918 in Waco. He preceded her in death on Aug. 30, 1975. Mrs. Tynes was the oldest living member on Edgefield Baptist Church; She was also active in the Gurley Home Demonstration Club. She was always eager and quick to help others.
Survivors included her son, Alton Dee Tynes, Jr. and wife, Betty Fay Sanders Tynes, of Waco; grandchildren, Vanessa Dell Tynes Hale and husband, Timothy Michael Hale, of Katy and Kenneth Dee Tynes of Waco; great grandchildren Kristian Dee Tynes and wife, Casey T. Meyers, of Waco, Lindsay Meridith Hale and Kyle Michael Hale of Katy and Cassie Dee and Carrie Dee Tynes of Waco; sisters, Hilda Rubie Smith and Ida Rose Cooke, both of Waco; and several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to Hillcrest Hospice Program.
