COLUMBIA – William Lanier "Billy" Lomas, father of Tammy Fulmer, died Aug. 31, 2008. Mrs. Fulmer is the administrative assistant to the director of the conference Connectional Ministries.
Funeral services were held Sept. 3 at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Fair Lawn UMC, 9203 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, SC 29203.
Mr. Lomas is survived by his wife, Virginia Lomas, three daughters and son.

COLUMBIA -- A funeral service for William Lanier "Billy" Lomas will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday, September 3, 2008, at Fair Lawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Donald Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be his friends from the Eau Claire High School Football Class of 1960 and fellow Guardsmen from the S.C. Army National Guard. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 o'clock Tuesday evening at Shives Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fair Lawn United Methodist Church, 9203 Wilson Blvd., Columbia, SC 29203.
Mr. Lomas died Sunday, August 31, 2008. Born in Columbia, he was the son of the late Paul L. and Mary E. Bass Lomas. He retired from the Army National Guard after 33 years of service. Mr. Lomas was a charter member of Fair Lawn United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Virginia Lomas; daughters, Tammy (Eddie) Fulmer of Blythewood, Terry Lomas of Rock Hill, Tonya Lomas of Charleston; son, William Keith (Jaime) Lomas of Blythewood; grandchildren, Joseph, Josh, Christian and Alyssa; sister, Mary Lanier Bishop of Blythewood; his beloved dog, Alex. He was predeceased by his identical twin, Paul Lomas.
