Nancy Boesl
Nancy V. Boesl, 85, daughter of Charles E. and Adda Elmore, was born March 3, 1918, at Cedar Bluff. She died April 9, 2003, after a lengthy illness.
In October 1929, she accepted Christ as her Savior and was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Houston, where she was an active member of the choir, a soloist and a Sunday School teacher as long as her health permitted.
She graduated from Houston High School in 1935 and attended cosmetology school, graduating in 1939. She returned to Houston and operated Nan's Beauty Salon until 1971.
She married Roy B. Gentry Nov. 12, 1942. They operated the Gentry family farm on Brushy Creek Road, which they later purchased.
Following Roy's death in 1982, she traveled extensively, remained active in her church and sent time with her brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews as well as other extended family members.
She married George J. Boesl Sept. 22, 1984. She adapted to her new family, becoming not only wife, but mother, grandmother and aunt to many more nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Charles Elmore, Woodrow Elmore, Gerald Elmore and Clark Elmore; and her sisters, Pauline DeRosa, Gladys Duff and Mary Louise Smith.
Surviving are her husband, George; her stepchildren, Georgia Adey of Hillsboro, Earl Boesl of Bartlesville, Okla., and Sharon Rees of Houston; three brothers, Carlos Elmore of Houston, Duane Elmore of Sacramento, Calif., and Don Elmore of Phoenix, Ariz.; one sister, Carol Pipkin of Mission Hills, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Services were April 12 at the First Baptist Church in Houston with the Rev. Ben Gard and the Rev. Harold Bruening officiating. Burial was in the Pine Lawn Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
