Claude Washington Shook, 71, 100 Johnson St., Muscle Shoals, died Thursday at his residence after an extended illness.
He was a native of Lawrence County, lived in Sheffield most of his life, was a member of Pipefitters Local 760, and worked as a pipe fitter for the city of Sheffield 34 years before he retired.
The service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Weeden Heights Pentecostal Church. The Revs. L.D. Overton and Roger Overton will officiate. Burial will be in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery, Spry Funeral Home, Sheffield, directing.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella Shook; sons, Vernon Shook, Tupelo, MS, Luther Gary Shook, Florence, Billy Shook, Sheffield; daughter, Rose Marie Shook, Muscle Shoals; brothers, Clyde Shook, Sheffield, Charles Shook, Washington; sisters, Mrs. Nell Busby, Mrs. Addie Lee Bishop, both of Tuscumbia; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Russell Logan, Louis Moore, Russell Morgan, Mack Lansdell, Grover Reaves, Lane Roland, Walter Hester.
