WINFRED R. WYANT SR.
Winfred R. Wyant Sr., 79, of Ruckersville, left this world to live with the Lord, on Friday, April 23, 2004, after a long courageous battle with Alzheimers. He was born Jan. 31, 1925, in Rockingham County, son of the late James Frank Wyant and Sarah Betty Wyant. He was a member of the First Bible Baptist Church in Stanardsville, and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was retired from Wyant Construction Company. Mr. Wyant is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elizabeth F. Wyant; two son, Winfred R. Wyant Jr. of Scottsville and Charles Wade Wyant of Stanardsville; two daughters, Peggy W. Morris and Barbara A. Roach, both of Ruckersville; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four sisters, Elsie Dean, Alma Bender, Minnie Wendt, and Marie Dean; two brothers, Lurty Wyant and Kemper Wyant. A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2004, at First Bible Baptist Church, with pastor James E. Woods officiating. Interment will follow at the family cemetery in Ruckersville. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, CNA's, and the staff at Evergreene Nursing Home and Hospice of the Rapidan. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation. Ryan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
