Roy C. Neikirk, a Somerset attorney for a number of years, died Saturday, January 28, at Louisville following an extended illness. He was 61.

Born January 27, 1917, in Somerset, he was the son of Grover and Lula Fisher Neikirk, both of whom preceded him in death.

He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and had served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Survivors include two children, Bruce Neikirk and Kim Neikirk, both of Louisville; two brothers, Glen Neikirk and John Robert Neikirk, both of Somerset; two sisters, Lucille Quiggins and Lena Kirby, both of Louisville; and a granddaughter, Karen.

He was preceded in death by an older brother, Judge C. Homer Neikirk, and a twin brother, Ray Neikirk.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, at Pulaski Funeral Home, with Rev. C.E. Jacobs officiating.

Burial will be in the Mill Springs National Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Pulaski Funeral Home.
