Died – Mr. Pierce Teller, who went by the name of Turner died at the home of Archie Pierce on February 11, 1900 at 8 o'clock a.m. aged 65 years, 8 months and 7 days. He was buried at the Swan Lake cemetery on February 12, at one o'clock. The funeral services were conducted by Rev. Heiserman. (Emmet County Republican, Estherville, IA, February 15, 1900)

Old Mr. Turner died Sunday morning at eight o'clock at the home of Archie Pierce. The old gentleman had been in the part of the country for a couple of years. This winter he had been with Mr. Pierce helping him with his chores. He has no relatives that any one knows of. The funeral was held at Mr. Pierce's Monday conducted by Rev.
