Funeral services for Vivian Ruth Benedict 79, of Wharton will be held 2 p. m. Sunday in the chapel of the Wharton Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Storey officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarvale Cemetery.
Visitation hours will be after 3 p. m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Benedict was born July 28, 1911, to Thomas W. and Bertha Ann Hickman McClaugherty in Wharton and died Dec. 14, 1990, in Wharton.
She married the late Clinton P. White Sr., who preceded her in death on Oct. 13, 1961. She later met and married Thomas Henry Benedict on May 18, 1964, in Wharton and was preceded in death by him on Sept. 28, 1989. She was a longtime resident of Wharton County, having lived in Newgulf and Wharton. She was also a member of the First United Methodist Church of Wharton. Mrs. Benedict was a retired medical clerk for the Rugeley Blasingame Clinic in Wharton.
Survivors include her two sons, Clinton White of Wharton and Bill White of Lafayette, La.; six grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are with Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton.
