PARALYSIS FATAL TO J.W. SANDERS
Life Time Resident of This City and Section Dead.
Body Was Laid to Rest On Last Friday Afternoon.
Following a stroke of paralysis suffered several days ago, John Whitt Sanders, aged 53 years, died at his home in this city at 1:30 o'clock Friday morning.
The funeral service was conducted from the residence Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. H.L. Kingman, pastor of the Seneca Methodist church, and Prof. W.W. Burton, who is supplying as pastor of the Baptist church here. Interment was made in the Seneca cemetery and the may and beautiful floral tributes attested to the esteem in which the deceased was held.
Mr. Sanders was born in Oconee county, near Seneca, fifty-three years ago and was the son of the late J.A. and Mrs. Mary L. Sanders, the latter surviving him.
During his early life he became affiliated with the Baptist church of which he was a member at the time of his death. He was also a member of the Woodmen of the World.
The majority of his life was spent in Seneca and vicinity and he had a large circle of friends and acquaintances who held him in high esteem.
Surviving, in addition to his mother, are his wife, and six children, of Ware Shoals; seven sisters, Mrs. J.J. Moore, Mrs. J.B. Stone, Mrs. R.R. Phillips, Mrs. H.L. Phillips and Mrs. Julia Long, of Seneca; Mrs. J.M. King, of Anderson, and Mrs. H. Fredericks, of Ware Shoals, and two brothers, C.W. Sanders of Hoyt, Colorado and Wibb (sic) Sanders of Walhalla.
