Betty L. Dittemore, 73, of Indianapolis, passed away at her home. She was born in McMinnville, TN, to Lyman and Louise Herriman.
Betty attended Muncie Central Schools and worked as management in food service at Laughners, Woolworths, L.S. Ayers, and retired from Eli Lilly. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, and reading.
Betty is survived by her mother, Louise Herriman of Muncie; five brothers and sisters, Clayton Herriman (wife-Janie) of Daleville, Shirley Manfredo (husband-Pete) of Sarasota, FL, John T. Herriman (wife-Kathy) of Salem, SC, Lynn Swearingin (husband-Tony) of Muncie, and Connie Harrold of Muncie; and several nieces and nephews.
Betty was preceded in death by her father, Lyman Herriman; a brother, James Herriman; and a sister, Mary Phillipa.
A funeral service to celebrate Betty's life will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Elm Ridge Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park. Friends and family may gather to share and remember one hour prior to services from 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be given to American Diabetes Association and American Heart Association with envelopes provided at the funeral home.
