Mercedes M. Alarid, age 93, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully in her sleep on April 1, 2005.
Mercedes was born in Los Lunas, NM.
Mercedes was preceded in death by her parents, José and Felizita, her sisters, Dolores and Seniada, and her brothers, Johnny, Gilberto, Ernest and Trinidad.
Mercedes is survived by her brother, Manuel, a sister, Angie Armijo and many nieces and nephews.
Mercedes dedicated her life to God and to her brother, Manuel. Her love for God gave her the strength and the courage to get through life. Her ability to give love rather than be loved, to live frugally and yet give to the needy, to whistle a merry tune and yet to be sad inside is my loving Aunt Mercedes, an example for us who will still remain.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 7, 2005 at Risen Savior Catholic Community Church, 7701 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on the corner of Paseo del Norte and Wyoming.
