Scott E. Alden, 55, of Peoria passed away at his residence in Crescent City, Fla., on Monday, Nov. 26, 2012.

He was born Aug. 10, 1957, in Peoria, the son of Erwin Leon and Carole L. Steiner Alden. He married Diana L. Alden on Nov. 15, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nev.

He is survived by his wife of eight years; his father, Erwin L. Alden; five children, Michelle (Steve) Stevenson of Creve Coeur and Cory Ayres of Bartonville; two grandchildren, Brandon Kristopher Stevenson and Brooke Renee Stevenson; three daughters, Shannon, Dion and Sara Alden, all of Peoria; and their children; and three siblings, Susan (Ron) Armstrong of Bartonville, Christy (Larry Friend) Simpsen of West Peoria and Billy (Neeta) Simpsen of Brereton, Ill.

Scott was preceded in death by his mother, Carole Alden earlier this year; one niece, Nicole Kraus; and one nephew, Billy Rieck.

Scott was the owner of Lewis Cabinet Shop. Woodworking was his trade and his hobby. He was never far from his woodworking equipment.

Scott also enjoyed his Harley-Davidson, fishing with his Dad, vacationing with his wife and target/skeet shooting.
