Former Galveston city commissioner and one-time official of the Clyde L. Mallory Steamship Co. He was named city commissioner in 1923 to fill an unexpired term. He was then elected to the office and served 2 full terms. He at one time was associated with his brother in the McCarthy bank that operated here for a time.
