Vivian was a retired school teacher, after teaching 38 years. She was a 1943 graduate of Central Missouri State College in Warrensburg, Missouri. She began by teaching in one room country schools. She taught in Versailles, Pattonville, and Tipton, Missouri. She was a published Poet. Vivian never married. She was a very good cook and her "Burnt Carmel Cake" was especially prized by family and friends. Her poem (Visions) was listed on The Library of Poetry's Contemporary Poet Series.
