Leon Freeman, 75, of Solsberry, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at his residence. He was born in Owen County on February 19, 1937 to Johnny and Goldie (Bruner) Freeman. Leon retired in 1994 from Wetterau after 35 years of service. He was a charter member and long standing board member of the Hendricksville Area Association. Leon was instrumental in the building and maintenance of the Hendricksville Community Center/Fire Station and was proud of that accomplishment. He is loved and will be sorely missed by those lives he touched.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Carolyn (Abram) Freeman; children, Jerry (Cindy) Freeman and Angela Criger both of Solsberry; siblings, Sammy Freeman of Spencer, Donald Freeman of Ellettsville, Junior Freeman of Spencer, Ira Freeman of Spencer, Nancy Pearl Fulk of Spencer, Martha Ann Hamm of Spencer, Rosa Mae Hendricks of Bloomington and Barbara McQueen of Solsberry; grandchildren, Christopher Freeman, Kyle Criger, Kaylyn Criger and James Uland and grand dog, Baylee.
Leon is preceded in death by his parents; and siblings, Russell Freeman, Joseph Freeman and Lois Freeman and grandchild, Joshua Freeman.
Funeral services will be at 1 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at West & Parrish & Pedigo Funeral Home in Spencer. Pastor Ed Tharpe will officiate. Burial be Saturday at Gross Cemetery in Owen County on Saturday.
