The death of Warren Norton Goddard, 1857-1900

The New York business community, together with a large circle of friends is called upon this week to mourn the untimely death, at age 43, of Warren Norton Goddard, senior member of the firm J.W. Goddard & Sons. Mr. Goddard had been far from well for a number of months and had but recently returned from a trip to Europe in search of health. A surgical operation was at last considered necessary and was performed at the Roosevelt Hospital, in the city, the patient not recovering from its effects.

Mr Goddard, besides being a excellent merchant, was pre-eminently a gentleman. A graduate of Harvard, he was prominent in club and society life, an industrious and capable man of business, and in all capacities the embodiment of geniality and refinement. Mr Goddard was a widower but is survived by one child.
