Man Crossing road dies in hit-and-run

A Mesquite man was struck and killed late Sunday in a hit and run on Garland Road.
Police say Jerry McAnally 68, was crossing Garland Road near
Peavy Road about 11 p.m. when he was hit by a northbound vehicle.
The driver fled, but another motorist called 911 after finding McAnally lying near the concrete median in the inside lane. McAnally was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.

No description of the vehicle that hit him was available because no witnesses have stepped forward.

Jerry was born March 12,1944 in Dallas Texas to Charlie Runal McAnally and Ethelene Lockey Shelton McAnally.

Jerry was preceeded in death by his Parents, Charlie and Ethelene McAnally and three sisters, Glenice McAnally Flora Neville and Sheryle McAnally.

He is survived by two sons, Weylon Ray McAnally and wife Michelle of Red Oak, Charlie Runal II McAnally and Wife Kathy of Canton, Ex Wife and mother to his children, Eileene McAnally of Red Oak, Five grandchildren, Sabrina McAnally of Hawkins, Charlie McAnally III of Canton, Lila, Conner and Kellan McAnally of Red Oak. Sister, Gail Bowers of Flint, and brothers Terry McAnally and wife Joyce of Mesquite, Garry McAnally and wife Frances of Chandler.Numerous Niece's and Nephew's.

The Memorial service for our brother Jerry McAnally will be January 12, 2013 @ 11:am @ the First Baptist Church of Mabank, Texas
