Angeline (went by Angie) Mary Stevenson (or was she born Mary Angeline Stevenson?) was the eldest of ten known children of John Washington Stevenson (1820-1895) and Mary Catherine Lackey Stevenson (1825-1873), who married 15 Dec 1845 at Iredell County, North Carolina.

Angie married James Albert Houpe (1838-1917) on 14 Nov 1867 in North Carolina. Angie and James were the parents of five known children, namely:

1. Katie Blanche Houpe Henley (1867-1905)
2. James Claudius Houpe (1870-1962)
3. John Abner Houpe (1874-1960)
4. Fred Lucky Houpe (1878-1955)
5. E. Jessie Rockwell Houpe Lippard (1884-1950)
