Marilyn G. Higginbotham, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away suddenly on December 19, 2012 at home. She was born in San Francisco on September 10th to Dorothy Hedeen and Adair McCarthy. In 1932, Marilyn's mother married Robert Pope who became her beloved Dad.
Marilyn met the love of her life, Lee, and married him on December 2, 1958. He became a wonderful Dad to Kris and Craig and in 1961 Marilyn and Lee welcomed another son, Steve.
She enjoyed traveling all over the U.S. with Lee in their camper, boating (even though she didn't like the water), and her beloved soap operas which she faithfully watched for over 50 years.
Marilyn was a loving and generous soul, devoted to her family and friends and an inspiration to all who knew her. If you were her friend it was for life. She leaves behind fond memories and good times with forever friends Jean and Dan, Virgie, Barbara Jean, Mary Lou, Mary, June and Jolene just to name a few.
Marilyn is survived by her children and their spouses, Kris and Dave, Craig and Emily, Steve and Linda, her grandchildren Michelle (Tom), Kendra, Kirk (Deanne), Lisa and Brian, her great-grandchildren Cody, Cole and Arianna, her step-grandchildren Frank, Fran and Steven and many step-great grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving sister Jane and brothers Barney and Clem.
She will be missed but her spirit will shine in all who loved and knew her.
