James Harold Ball, 80, of Conway died Tuesday (Feb. 22, 2000) at his residence.

Born Jan. 14, 1920, in Stuttgart (Arkansas County), son of the late Luther and Ethel Moore Ball, he was retired from Zellerback Paper Co. and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.

He was an Army Air Forces veteran of World War II who served in the European Theater and was a member of Knights of Columbus Council 4143, 3rd degree.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack and Charles Ball.

Survivors are his wife, Mary Sue Bennett Ball; a son, James H. Ball Jr. of Ballwin, Mo.; two sisters, Mary Berg of North Little Rock and Pauline Tait of Stuttgart; two grandchildren; and a stepgrandchild.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. John Yates officiating. Burial will be in Crestlawn Memorial Park.

Members of the Knights of Columbus will serve as pallbearers.

Rosary will be 7 p.m. today at Griffin Leggett-Conway.
