Born in Tignish, Henri was a collector, protector and promoter of the history of P.E.I.'s West Prince County. He was an author and a very knowledgeable and highly respected historian. He held two university degrees, a B.A. from St. Dunstan's University in Charlottetown, P.E.I. and an M.A. from the Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, U.S.A.~Henri held a diploma in Pipe Organ Music from the Royal Conservatory of Music, University of Toronto and studied at both the University of Poitiers and the University of Grenoble in France. In Tignish he became the organist and choir director at the church of St. Simon and St. Jude. Henri was the founder of the Tignish Museum. After retiring from teaching he became its curator.
