Ruel Maddox
POST -- Ruel Maddox, 95, formerly of the Big Country, died Tuesday in a local care center.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in Justice-Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Bo Jackson officiating. Graveside services will be at 4 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery in Cisco with the Rev. Clayton Pennington officiating.

Mrs. Maddox was born in Williamson County and lived in Coryell, Brown and Coleman counties until moving to Garza County in 1935. She was a farmer. She also worked as a mid-wife for many years in Post and at the Close City school cafeteria. She returned to Cisco in 1966 and Post in 1986. She was a Baptist and was the widow of Roy Maddox, whom she married in 1923 in Coryell County.

Survivors include two sons, Thurman Maddox of Post and Pete Maddox of Brownwood; one daughter, Fleta Caffey of Post; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
