Charles LeRoy Kervin, 74, a native of Red Level and a resident of Prattville, passed away on Wed., Oct. 3, 2012, at a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Sat., Oct. 6, at 10 a.m., in the Prattville Memorial Chapel with the Rev. J.B. Burt officiating. Burial will follow in Prattville Memory Gardens with Prattville Memorial Chapel directing.

He was a graduating member of the Red Level High School Class of 1957. He attended New Vision Baptist Church. He worked for Barber Dairies and was a wholesale route salesman from Nov. 28, 1960, until his retirement on Oct. 30, 2001. He also served in the Alabama National Guard from Oct. 10, 1955, until retiring on Jan. 14, 1998. While in the National Guard, he was a part of several units: quartermaster, transportation, military police and medics. He last served as a medic/platoon sergeant with the 161st Med Battalion in Mobile.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Riley Kervin and Minnie Mae Kervin, and his wife, Wanda Kervin.

Survivors include a son, Chris (Kim) Kervin; a daughter, LeAnn (Jerry) Barr, all of Prattville; seven grandchildren, Katelyn, Matthew, Lillianna, Maggie, Mylee, Levi and Wyatt; a brother, Steve (Tammy) Kervin of DeFuniak Springs, Fla.; and special friends, Lisa Kervin and Judy Capps.

He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Montgomery Cancer Center.
