Benedict was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, American Legion Post 539, and Eagles 2633, all in North Baltimore. He also served in the Philippines during World War II in the Navy.
He was born June 20, 1926, in North Baltimore to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Benedict (Emma Jane Brumbaugh). He married Connie Stemen May 27, 1977.
She survives along with four sons, Michael, Findlay; James, Fremont; and David and Bradd, both of North Baltimore; one daughter, Mrs. Susan Miklovic, North Baltimore; mother, Mrs. Emma Benedict, North Baltimore; one stepson, Fred Davis, Oak Harbor; one brother, John, Findlay; six sisters, Jane Hinton, Orlando, FL.; Maxine Shafer, Celina; Mary Lloyd and Shirley Heilman, both of North Baltimore and Louise Smith and Mabel Witter, both of Findlay; and 12 grandchildren.
The funeral will be Friday at 11 a.m. in Smith Cranes Funeral Home, North Baltimore. Burial will be in New [sic] Maplewood Cemetery*, North Baltimore, Rev. _ will officiate.
Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
