Cause of death: Diabetes.

Jacob K. Doerstler died on Friday evening at 9 o'clock at his home, No. 340 West Orange Street, of diabetes, after an illness of three weeks. He was born May 9, 1849, at Conestoga Centre, and was therefore in his sixty-fourth year. His parents were the late Jacob B. and Lena Kauffman Doerstler. Mr. Doerstler had been a resident of this city for sixteen years. He had been superintendent of the Philanthropic Insurance Company. He was a member of Bethany United Evangelical Church and Vetlan Veteran Castle, Knights of the Golden Eagle. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Laura A. Kendig, of Conestoga Centre, before marriage, and three daughters, Mrs. Martin Newcomer, of Dillerville; Mrs. Eli Hofstadt, of Letort, and Miss Janette, at home. He is also survive by one brother, Amos K. Doerstler, of Creswell. The funeral will be held from Bethany United Evangelical church on Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
