Chauncey Dowd was born Nov. 18, 1942, in Hutchinson, the son of Chauncey O. and Mary Jane Craig Dowd. He attended Frankfort High School. He married Sandra Graham. He worked as a butcher for Welchs Meat Locker in Frankfort for 33 years before retiring in 2005. He delivered the Topeka paper for 15 years. He served in the Army from 1964 to 1966 and was a member of the American Legion. He was a man of God and faith.He enjoyed fishing, reading, working on vehicles, old western movies and would help anyone who needed it.
Survivors include his wife,Sandra; his sons, Kristopher Dowd, Frankfort,Kansas and James Dowd, Ottawa,Kansas; his daughter, Christina Wiley, Frankfort,Kansas; his brothers, John Dowd, Holton,Kansas and George Dowd, Sabetha,Kansas; his sisters, Clara Jefferies, Blue Rapids,Kansas Shirley Smith, Topeka,Kansas Betty and Kathy Dowd, both of Frankfort,Kansas and Sharon Singleton, Centralia;Kansas
10 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
