Arlene Smith was born on June 3, 1929 in Detroit to Harry Smith and Olive (Bacon) Smith and later married Arnold Bevins on June 29, 1946 in Blue Lake. Arlene started work at Misco in Whitehall in 1966 where she worked for many years until her retirement. Arlene had also been active in Blue Lake Township for many years where she served as township treasurer for over 40 years. Arlene played the organ at the Blue Lake Community Church for many years, enjoyed gardening, knitting, crocheting and collecting angels.
Arlene was survived by her husband, Arnold Bevins of Blue Lake; her children, Ralph Bevins of Twin Lake; Sharon (David) Medema of Holton; Bruce Bevins of Muskegon; Patricia Luttrull of Muskegon; 13 grandchildren; 28 great grandchildren; her sisters, Dorothy Moon of Tennessee; Marion Davis of Texas; Shirley Kroll of Montague; several nieces and nephews.
Arlene was preceded in death by her sons, Thomas Bevins and Eugene Bevins; and her brothers, Bob Smith and Paul Smith.
