Ila was baptized on September 15, 1935 and confirmed on March 21, 1948 all at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington.

Ila married Dale Mohr on July 30, 1955 at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Bennington, Nebraska and to this union two children were born: Van and Sue. Ila and Dale lived in California and Omaha for a short time before settling in Bennington to raise their family.

Ila worked at Mutual of Omaha for a short time before becoming a full time homemaker. In later years, Ila assisted Dale with running their hardware store. Ila enjoyed a trip to the casino, any casino, and often planned their trips around the route to the next casino. She loved to cook especially for large gatherings. She was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church and active as a 4-H leader and Cub Scout Den Mother. Ila is remembered as a generous, steadfast, woman who loved to travel and spent time with her family.
