Patrick Egan was the son of William Egan and Mary (Boles) Egan. He immigrated to the U.S. in 1885. Patrick also had two sisters that immigrated to the U.S. Their parents remained in Ireland.
Patrick married Mary Kane in New York City on October 27, 1889 and one child was born to these parents, Peter Joseph Egan, on March 3, 1891.
In the early 1900's the family moved from New York to Southern California. He worked initially as a mason on the extensive sewer system being built in the Imperial Valley of Southern California and later he worked for, and retired from, the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power.
