Crowl] – Woman's Death Deeply Mourned – Passing of Mrs. Bessie Crowl Regretted by Lawrenceville, Pa., Residents. – Residents of Lawrenceville, Pa., and vicinity are mourning the death of one of Lawrenceville's best known and highly respected residents. Mrs. Bessie A. Crowl, wife of Daniel H. Crowl, whose funeral was held Saturday privately at the late home. The Rev. Vaughn McArthur, pastor of the Lawrenceville Methodist Episcopal Church of which Mrs. Crowl was a life-long member officiated. Her husband, Daniel H. Crowl, is district manager of the Mutual Life Insurance Company and has an office in Corning.
Interment was in Powers Cemetery, Lawrenceville, Pa. The bearers were Phineas Lindsley, Robert Eaton, John Crowl, Charles Jackson, Charles Crane and William Coon.
Mrs. Crowl died Wednesday, June 6, in the Geisner memorial Hospital, Danville, Pa., following an illness of four months. She was born in Lawrenceville, Pa., August 1, 1874, the daughter of Calvin and Betsy Benn. She spent her entire life in that village, where she was married April 30, 1902, to D. H. Crowl, who survives.
Possessing more than ordinary musical ability, she was active in musical circles throughout the community, playing the piano and singing with much display of talent. She was a member of many of the church organizations and took a prominent part in their activities and was in considerable demand as a soloist among many groups of the community. She was also a member of Chapter No. 160 of the O. E. S., of Tioga, Pa.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Crowl is survived by one sister, Mrs. Emma Lindsley, of Lawrenceville, Pa.; one nephew, Phineas Lindsley, of Morningside Drive, Elmira; and one niece, Miss Stella Eaton, of Lawrenceville, Pa."

"Mrs. Bessie Benn Crowl. Mrs. Bessie Benn Crowl, aged 60 years, wife of Daniel H. Crowl, of Lawrenceville, died Wednesday at the Geisner Memorial Hospital at Danville.
A native of Lawrenceville, she was the daughter of Calvin and Betsy Story Benn. She was married in 1902 to Mr. Crowl, who survives with a sister, Mrs. Fred Lindsley, also of Lawrenceville.
Mrs. Crowl was a member of the Methodist church and the Eastern Star and was an accomplished musician.
The funeral was held Saturday, Rev. Vaughn McArthur officiating; burial in the Lawrenceville cemetery."
